ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM

Site-specific project for the restructuring of the Archaeological Museum of Magna Grecia in Reggio Calabria

THE PROJECT

Designed specifically for the new courtyard of the new museum the artwork, discreet and sophisticated, joins perfectly with the structure of Palazzo Piacentini and “melts” with the new  renovation solution, expansion and museum equipping made ​​by Studio ABDR (Arlotti , Baccu, Desideri, Raimondi, http://www.abdr.it/site2010/) started in 2009 (with a record time compared with the length of the Italian yards). The ambitious project, the largest and most prestigious implemented so far in the South of Italy, inaugurated in 2011, and has been achieved without difficulty thanks to the strong collaboration between architectural Studio , artist, territory and the Regional Directorate for Cultural Heritage and Landscape of Calabria, in the person of the Director arch. Francesco Prosperetti. The project is included in the program for the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy.
