THE ARTWORK
Via d’Ombra (Shaded Alley) is a work specially commissioned the bamboo coppice in the grounds of Villa Medici in Rome. It is a made up of a raised “path” in cement that winds its way trough the bamboo plants and (at intervals) opens out into four “clearings”, each of which has a surface of coloured tiles and up in elevation four Squadre Plastiche (Plastic Squares) made of red glass fusion on copper.
