THE EXHIBITION
The exhibition establishes a plastic relation between the space of the gallery and the private dimension of the artist’s studio where an intimate, secret dialogue architecture – colour, matter – light, that characterizes all Pirri’s research, comes to life. The artist has literally remade his studio, with a process of twisting it and adapting it to the architecture of the gallery, in via del Mandrione.
“The works I’m showing are shapes and matters opening up like flowers after the winter. They are the result of a helpless winter, in a studio where noone else has ever set foot or hand, eye or mind. The exhibition seems to be a bit deserted and individualist, however not speaking to us with a confidential voice … it tells about the small escaping from the big (…) Even the head discloses, like an open box or a flower quickly opening up, like a glance that hits the space twisting it and forming angles where you can find a form like a bird (…). Inside this harmonious singing, embracing us but leaving us alone, it’s us who look into each other’s eyes.”

ARTISTS AND GUESTS
Throughout the exhibition Alfredo Pirri asked some friends to give. A gift creates a connection between who gives and who receives, a fragment of world passing from a hand to another.
Works, words, images, loved objects. The gifts received were put by the artist in this space that once was private but is now temporarily public, where he wante to share his gifts. With no emphasis, but naturally. He invited us to reflect on the possible transformations of the places, on how they can evoke experiences, produce desires, transform dreams into visions and visions into acts. Moral, therefore civil acts. Civil, therefore political acts. Acts that transmit the clean and healthy energy of the common feeling, among democratic, deep, aware people.
